¡Hola! David and I made it to Baja California, Mexico safe and sound yesterday … but after a LONG day of travel. The flight from LA to Cabo wasn’t very long but it turned out to be only the first leg of our travels. Still, we made it to our destination without incident and are now doing our best to enjoy the beautiful pueblo of Todos Santos in between our wedding duties as groomsmen.

The trip almost got off to a bad start when we found out the bar was “temporarily closed” in the airport lounge but we managed to rally by stuffing our faces with all the food options that were made available to us. Our flight to Mexico was quick and easy but upon our arrival we had to procure a Ford Exposition so that we could DRIVE the 2 hours to our destination. The first thing you need on a road trip is snacks so we made a pitstop along the way:

We also had to pick up “a few things” for the wedding on our way to town … it turns out “a few things” was actually 8 boxes of vases and other glassware and a huge wooden canopy thing that had to be strapped to the roof of our vehicle. THEN we had a nice long drive thru the desert (on roads that weren’t always paved, mind you) to get to our hotel. BUT WE MADE IT! Josh and Emma were waiting for us upon arrival and came running out with margaritas in hand. Last night was fun, the first group of us to arrive supped and drank and just hung out for the entire night.

Today, after a bit of work, David and I have the wedding rehearsal and then later we have the rehearsal dinner. But before we get to wedding work, we’re hoping to enjoy some of this beautiful Mexican weather! I’ll try to snap photos to share, I realize this post is severely lacking in photos. Honestly, as soon as we arrived last night, I stowed my phone and computer and just … relaxed.

Mad Men's two hour long season five premiere drew in 3.5 million viewers, leapfrogging season four's debut by 21 percent.

As a matter of fact, season four AVERAGED 2.4 million viewers, so this means very good things for AMC!

Compared to the 925K who watched the first season, Mad Men has come a loooong way!

While The Hunger Games takes the box office by storm this weekend, star Jennifer Lawrence is taking things … easy. J. Law was spotted doing a bit of grocery shopping here in SoCal this week all by her lonesome. I guess one could say she was hungry, eh? We don’t normally get to see photos of Jennifer out and about in the wild and off the red carpet … but now that The Hunger Games is about to catapult her into the celebrity stratosphere, I’m guessing we’ll get to see more photos of the young star doing regular people things.

My guess is that Jennifer is not yet used to being photographed when she’s out and about in public … and I sincerely hope she gets used to it/doesn’t mind it because her life is about to change. By and large, everyone seems to LOVE The Hunger Games film … and that means that anticipation for the follow up films Catching Fire and Mockingjay will make her even more high profile. Honestly, I couldn’t resist the chance to post these photos of “hungry” Jennifer Lawrence. She’s a star now … I hope she’s ready for it.

Yesterday we saw the first photos of actress AnnaSophia Robb on the NYC, NY set of the new CW TV series The Carrie Diaries (which is a prequel series based on the teenage life of the Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw). Today we get our first look at the first OFFICIAL promo photo of AnnaSophia as Carrie Bradshaw. The photos we saw yesterday are of the young actress on set, in between takes and only half in costume. Click below to see the young Carrie Bradshaw in all her youthful stylish glory.

My guess is that producers were a bit chagrined that those photos from The Carrie Diaries set hit the Internets yesterday because that is not how they likely wanted the world to be introduced to the young Carrie Bradshaw. This promo photo is really cute, really more indicative of what the character will look like in the series (I am LOVING the shoes!!!). I’m still not sure how I feel about The Carrie Diaries as a TV series but I love the Carrie Bradshaw character so much, I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. AnnaSophia makes a really cute Carrie, I think. I love this photo … do you?

After The Daily Caller, a D.C. based news site, posted a video from a 2004 St. Matthew's Parish School event he hosted, one horribly offensive thing was brought to attention.

It appears that in the video, next to Hanks, is a fellow parent and investment banker wearing BLACKFACE and dressed in a "tribal" costume!!!!!

Wow.

Following the video's leak, Tom released a statement saying:

"For many years I emceed the annual fundraising auction for my kids' school. In 2004, I was blindsided when one of the parents got up on the stage in a costume that was hideously offensive then and is hideously offensive now. What is usually a night of food and drink for a good cause was, regrettably, marred by an appalling few moments."

...that's for sure!!

No word yet from the school, who says they do not comment on fundraisers and school events OR Hanks' co-host of the night, the Eagles musician, Glenn Frey.

Unbelievable. There is NO reason why things like this should still be going on or why some people think it's acceptable!!!
