Mariah Carey Goes Au Natural In The Recording Studio

Back in November we got our first look at Mariah Carey in the recording studio and, as you may recall, she was lookin’ a bit glammed up for the occasion. Last month, we got to see new photos of Mimi in the studio with producer Jermaine Dupri … and again, homegirl was lookin’ hot. Today [...]

Whew. After a 2 week whirlwind 6 year anniversary trip turned engagement trip, David and I are finally home again in LA. Even tho we had an amazing time in NYC, then in Amsterdam, then in London, then in NYC again … it is UTTERLY fantastic to be home again. Our day yesterday was pretty standard but I did get to see an old friend in NYC before we made the long flight home.

Before David and I had to fly out of NYC, I was able to meet up with my dear friend Kerrie for a little visit. She is in NYC this week for work and we only had about an hour together … but it was great to see her. The long flight home was pretty boring. I watched Drive on my iPhone and slept the whole way. It was really nice to just be home last night, I’m telling you.

Today is Leap Day, so to celebrate … some friends and I are going to Disneyland tonight because it will be open for 24 hours today. From 6AM this morning til 6AM tomorrow morning, Disneyland will be OPEN for biz. I may be a total wreck tomorrow but it’ll be worth it. This is the first time that Disneyland and Disney World will be kept open for 24 hours straight. It should be fun.

Happy Leap Day, y’all! I hope you are making the best of this extra day :) xo

As we say goodbye to One Tree Hill, The CW will be giving it quite the sendoff!

During the final episode on April 4th, One Tree Hill fans will get two hours of drama and closure. Along with OTH, The CW has set the finales of all their shows including The Ringer, whose season finale is remarkably early.

Is Sarah Michelle Gellar pissed? Lolz

The freshman drama ends April 17th, making way for newbie The L.A. Complex. At least there's a week to heal from OTH's ending?

It's sad to see One Tree Hill go after nine seasons. We can only hope there isn't an OC or Sopranos' ending planned!

Goodbye OTH! We'll miss you!

Prepare For Oblivion! New Trailer For Wrath Of The Titans!

Many may not have thought that the remake of Clash of the Titans warranted a sequel, but it's coming anyway!
Thankfully, however, it looks as though they're using it to try to rectify some of the problems with the first!
Ch-ch-check out the just-released new trailer for Wrath of the Titans, in which Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, [...]

We didn't think Sacha Baron Cohen was going to go down without a fight!

Although the actor was reportedly banned from the Oscars after organizers became concerned that he was going to cause problems walking the red carpet as General Aladeen, the character from his new mockumentary, The Dictator, producer Brian Grazer has come forward to welcome him however he'd like to come, as the Academy "respect him as an artist."

Of course, Aladeen took no time at all posting THIS picture (above) with the following message via Twitter:

"VICTORY IS OURS! Today the Mighty Nation of Wadiya triumphed over the Zionist snakes of Hollywood.

"Evil and all those who made Satan their protector were vanquished and driven into the Pacific Sea. What I am trying to say here is that the Academy have surrendered and sent over two tickets and a parking pass! TODAY OSCAR, TOMORROW OBAMA!"

Oh man.

The Academy shouldn't have said anything to begin with. We have an AMAZING feeling that whatever Cohen had planned, it's going to be EVEN CRAZIER now that they gave him all this trouble!

AND WE CAN'T WAIT! LOLz!

Organize iTunes With The Help Of Software

A question that frequently crops up with a great number of keen guitarists is "what gauge of guitar strings should end up being utilised with a Les Paul style guitar?" The truth is that exactly what suits one guitarist might not exactly suit another, it's a very individual thing. Here are some examples of why there isn't a straight answer to this question.

A HUGE congratulations to Elizabeth Smart!!

The 24-year-old Brigham Young University senior married her fiance Matthew Gilmour at a Mormon temple in Hawaii over the weekend.

The couple said their "I do"s in a small, intimate wedding in front of family and friends at the Laie Hawaii Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday.

This is a BIG and positive step for the young woman who was kidnapped from her home in Utah back in 2002, and was kept prisoner for 9 months.

"The bride and groom were beaming as they left the LDS Temple," said spokesman Chris Thomas, after they celebrated at a private reception and luau on Oahu's North Shore.

Her father Ed Smart also confirmed the news, saying:

"Yes, Elizabeth did get married today and we are all thrilled."

As are we.

Her recovery and progress has been absolutely amazing and she truly is a hero and an inspiration to many women.

We are so happy that SHE'S happy! Congrats again!

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart spent their first Valentine's Day together away from the glitz and glam of Hollywood (and the screaming of her two kids) at a resort in Santa Barbara. They were seen walking on the beach, playfully goofing off in the surf, and watching the tide pools from a large rock. They also were seen carving a huge heart in the sand and taking pictures of it to commemorate the day.

Today, Fox sent out a press release in which they made the MAJOR announcement that artists with management contracts will NOW be allowed to audition for The X Factor!

Here's what Simon Cowell had to say about it:

"We wanted to change a few things this year, so starting with the auditions, we’ve torn up the rulebook again. Even if you have management you can still enter, and we are making it easier by extending the online auditions and taking the MyStudio booths to even more cities. You can enter as many times as you want and come to any of the cities, too. We’re here to discover stars from all music styles including groups. I really believe a group can

win this show!"

And here's more from L.A. Reid:

"In the music industry, when you’re looking for new talent you can discover it anywhere. THE X FACTOR is opening this up to go further than anyone has before, and that’s what it takes, so I can’t wait to see what amazing talent we might find. I urge people to go out and audition, this is the real deal."

According to the press release, there are "limited restrictions" with regards to this new rule...but it definitely sounds like up-and-coming artists who already have managers should have no problem auditioning!

How do U feel about this? Do U think Simon is making the right move here???

Some of the Best Gordon Lightfoot Lyrics The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Electric Guitars are much different than Acoustic guitars, somewhat in a how you play them, but more so how they sound, their capabilities and how they feel. Put the two side by side, and there are obvious differences in shape, thickness etc, but as far as the actual note structure and frets, they are basically the same. There is no reason why you could not learn on either type, and use the abilities to play the other type. It may actually be slightly better to learn on an acoustic guitar because it is a bit harder to play. Then when you switch to electric, it will be that much more easy.

Live Music Lives On

We all have one: an album that touched us so deeply that it plays in the background of our most profound memories, and yet somehow no one else you know has heard of it. For me, that album is the 1995 self-titled release from Canadian singer-songwriter Rebecca Timmons. A friend of a friend of my mom's was in her band or something, and as a result, I had the good fortune of having a copy of it in the house where I grew up.

Scandal TV Series Episode 1

Anyone who has read Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories will be aware and probably in awe of his deductive and logical prowess. In the stories, it reads like something of a super-power, and many people wish or even fantasize about attaining similar skills themselves. Holmes' talents frequently leave the other characters dumbfounded, and in "The Adventure of the Devil's Foot" Dr. Leon Sterndale even denounces Holmes as "the devil himself." This allegation is unfounded, and throughout the stories, we (along with Watson- essentially Holmes' student) learn that his methods are firmly rooted in the study of logic.

Holmesian Deduction: The Way of Sherlock Holmes

If you're a fan of House M.D. and Gregory House's fantastic wit, intelligence and deductive, problem solving ability, you may wonder whether he takes anything from the classic literary detective Sherlock Holmes. Both are excellent problem-solvers, rational minds that are faced with mysteries deemed unsolvable by even the more experienced members of their chosen profession. The similarities between Dr. House and Mr. Holmes don't end there, by any means.

House and Holmes Great Rational Thinkers

If you're looking to improve your observational skills, it can be hard to know where to start. Most people fancy themselves as being fairly observant anyway, and unless you can develop super-powers, it seems as though improving your observation skills is virtually impossible. Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary literary detective is a master of observation, but he comments...

Michael Lohan has filed a job application with a Burger King in Palm Beach, Florida!

He was just recently released from a treatment facility he was at as part of his plea deal in his domestic violence case with his ex-gf, Kate Major.

So now that he's done his rehab, he's livin' large in a 3-bedroom suite at a halfway house.

Since he'll be living at the halfway house until he's released on March 16th, the workers there recommended he get a job to help pass the time.

Mainly, getting a job like that isn't to make money (or else he probably wouldn't have picked Burger King) it's really about slowly getting back into normal society.

Well we can only wish him the best and hope that this plan of action works for him.

Sometimes you just gotta do what the system tells you if you want back in society… you can't always "have it your way."

John Mayer And Tony Bennett Take One More For The Road!

This will certainly hold us over until his new album is finally ready!
Tony Bennett teamed up with the likes of Lady GaGa and the late Amy Winehouse for his album Duets II: The Great Performances, but for his latest single, One For My Baby (And One More for the Road), he is joined by none [...]

Looks like he's not taking this lightly!

Drake is NOT happy about the lawsuit being filed against him by Ericka Lee over claims that she was not compensated for co-writing and providing vocals on the track Marvin's Room from new album Take Care - especially the part where she says he told her that he had "people" to take care of "issues like her" - and the rapper has responded, and is calling bullshit!

His rep says:

"This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court."

Furthermore, other sources close to him are asserting that he is adamant that he and this chick never even had a relationship!

Hmm...it's sounding more and more to us like this is some disgruntled groupie trying to get her fifteen minutes!

But who knows what will come from the lawsuit?

The Healing Benefits of Music

The career of many composers is a long road of constant growth, sometimes small, sometimes large, even sometimes a complete change in style. Beethoven's music from the very beginning of his career was different from his contemporaries, but the difference between his first symphony and his ninth, his first string quartet and his sixteenth, are huge. Mendelssohn almost seems like he was formed a complete composer from a very early age, and his style and complexity of his music didn't change dramatically his entire career.
